A h/t from friend, Cindy Hayes Brown, at FB re the White Wolf Sanctuary near the Oregon coast. The 60 acre site allows a safe haven for about a dozen Arctic White Wolves that have been injured, abandoned or rescued from abuse by Lois Tulleners White.
The site is worth a review to check out the pictures and intent of the managers. What is not as apparent in the available info is how the animals get moved into harms way from the far North habitat by the abusers or the well intentioned.
Either way, the folks at the White Wolf Sanctuary are attempting to do their part to repair the damages. Worth a look. White Wolf Sanctuary

This really hits home with me. My divorced brother bought a purebred wolf pup for his 16 yr old son Sam. Sam had issues with his care so my brother took the wolf and raised it. He did make a huge concrete and steel enclosure, but otherwise treated it like a dog. They loved Timber out at the dog park in Salem.
One day Doug took Timber to the dog park in Keizer, and he didnt get on very well with another dog… happens to every breed, but the woman called police. The police told Doug they would be out to impound Timber the next day. He would not be returned if he was a danger, they would put him down.
The next morning the enclosure had been broken into and the wolf was gone. Doug was beside himself, and everyone in the family loved and was worried about where Timber had gone.
Seems that in the time they said they would come impound, and the next morning, a wolf rescue group from I wont say where, came and took the wolf to safe habitat. Sam had called and begged them not to let the police take him.
I am not for having these wild animals in captivity. Doesnt take much to trigger an inbred instinct, and I so appreciate the recuers, and the people who support them. I am sending White Wolf Sanctuary a nice check to buy whatever they need. I do not know where Timber is, but does it matter? They all need rescue, and the recuers deserve the support. Thanks WWR for all you do!
