Egg Nog French Toast @ The Hungry Southerner
Grew up with French Toast. Always been a camping breakfast for at least one morning, with bacon. I am not big on pancakes, but French Toast slathered in syrup and butter will grab my attention.
Sounds yummy! Maybe I’ll try it with thick-sliced Cuban bread, soaked in the eggnog mixture overnight in the fridge, but without cinnamon or nutmeg, both of which seem to fight the flavor of maple syrup. The secret to nicely-browned French Toast is to beat some sugar into the mixture. And spending extra for REAL maple syrup is well worth the expense – nothing else compares.
