There are some nice pictures in this piece by Teyssie. Small pools gave up beautiful little browns to the Caddis imitations. Some great, scraggily Caddis-Sedge imitations can be found at: http://www.jpdessaigne.com/Lesmouchesseches/Mouchesseches_sommaire.htm (you have to take some time at this site and really explore it totally….very rewarding site.

I tried to translate this piece into English, but it did not come across very well. The pictures speak for themselves and convey a beautiful mountain experience in France.

So, the deal is I am trying to learn to take better pics. I have a wobbly tripod, experimental side lighting, and a crick in my neck (those are my excuses, which I will abandon when I finally perfect my lighting, stability and F stops). Still learning. Almost there.  Need to find a good ‘how to’ on using the Canon 100mm macro to get a more crisp shot. The lens came with nothing helpful. The image looks as sharp as can be thru eyepiece, but not quite there.

Bert & Jane’ Gildart’s Adventures and Images

Came across great SW shots of the Gildart’s via http://willfishforwork.com. The writing is interesting and I particularly liked this shot and the story with it:

Mule Team Wagon~Bert Gildart

Mule Team Wagon~Bert Gildart

©Bert Gildart: ” Surely anyone over age 55 can remember seeing the old teams of 20 mules pulling their load of “20-Mule Team Borax” in the highly dramatized TV series Death Valley Days hosted by Ronald Reagan. In real life, the mules were pulling their loads from Harmony Works, located about two miles from where we’re now docked at Sunset Campground. From Harmony, the teams pulled loads 165 miles to the train depot in Mojave.”
