I live in East Kent, Uk. In the last few weeks I’ve seen loads of these and for the last 2 days the appear to swarm around my home mating. I’ve never heard of these before, I’ve never seen these before?

It seems to me midge/buzzer like…but when I look at tying sites they tie it larger and bushy (impressionistic vs. realistic) for lake/lach fishing. I haven’t seen that Bibio for quite a few years as related to flytying/flyfishing. Diptera patterns are usually for midges, which look a lot like this Bibio pic. Midges, like mosquitos, have prolific hatches as the weather warms. I not being much help….your region…the Bibio names patterns are wet fly/bushy affairs for lakes….here is a good link from a well known B.C. flyfisher
