Was reading some enquiry at Oregon Live about Osprey taking a fish from a fisher on the McKenzie R. As the article notes, it is not unusual to see an Osprey swoop down for fish on a lake…but, even then they don’t usually take the fish from the angler. Now, as I have written before…those damn pesky Loons in B.C. are freakishly conspiratorial in seizing your catch on a lake.
However, what the article did mention, which I had never considered, was the migration of Osprey south during the Winter. Where did I think they hung out? Never thought of it.
Well, those amazing predators do migrate. And, they set down far to the South. Who knew? Well, I didn’t think about it.
