Aral Sea Shrinks & Vessels Lost (Recovery Possible?)

From a friend, who finds such items: “Have you ever wanted to walk across the bottom of the River, Lake  or Ocean to see all the ships that have sunk?  Well…. The  Aral Sea was once the world’s fourth-largest saline body of  water. It has been steadily shrinking since the 1960s, after  the rivers that fed it were diverted by Soviet Union irrigation  projects. And now it’s almost gone leaving a desert full of  old shipwrecks.” Is recovery likely?

The Take (The Prelude)

The Take. A tap, a smack, a pull somewhere from deep below or up on top. The rod bends, the line stretches, the pulse quickens. The swirl at the top, the first glimpse. A routine fish or an epic memory unfolding? How nice if one can take in the beauty, the angles ‘the moment’ rather than only worry about the mechanics of it all. The water’s surface is always a changing canvas of motion. Here a beautiful disruption between shadows and light, on the edge of giving delight.
