Pet owners have a sense of the disposition of their pets via their expressions and body language. Above, Penny the Cat had just been awakened from a deep sleep. Normally that cock eyed look coupled with a twitching tail is a certain tip off to not move toward her. Heck, she will move toward you! In this instance she was more dazed than aggressive. Cats have definite cues just like dogs have signals as to their mindset. The Arizona Humane Society has a nice series of links about pet ownership and behavioral signals. Emma, below, is just always a sweet girl.
“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be
satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
