Connecting to Man’s Good Nature

horsetail and tree swittersb

It is the surging, pounding spray

that lifts up to cleanse the face,

and help keep man’s follies at bay

while slowing my pace.

I care less for some sudden thrill

amongst the forces of earth,

as much as to renew my given free will

and avoid the fanciful, empty mirth.

Art: Essential Terminology

Oh my, there is no doubt that my youth was spent in some fashion playing a sport (none to well) and perhaps exercising some imagination, but probably only related to females. I just never was exposed, so to speak, to the arts (poetry, writings, painting, drawing, music). It was not on the radar for my parents or friends (save a neighbor boy who was/is an exceptional pianist).

So, I came upon this terminology for art site while researching my own question related to a photo I snapped: is there a term, word for obscure, opaque, distracted views in photography? Still not sure about the image question, but here is a wealth of art terminology and history related to Dutch painters. And here is my image that begs adjectives.

Alder Latticework SwittersBThis lattice work of bare Alders, with the Cascades foothills (Gorge escarpment) in back was taken in an off road/trail spot. I seemed to always be shooting into the bright light given my position to the North of the rock face. Once the trees leaf out the view will be gone.
