No, not in the Northern part of Oregon. The snow pack was adequate for enough runoff for hydro and agriculture. I am not sure about Southern Oregon or Eastern Oregon. The Portland area has had this conserve water mantra for a few years. It is not unusual to see brown lawns during the Summer as a status symbol of conserving water. At a minimum, we do try to use rain barrels, not water the sidewalks or wash the car every week. The fishing holds up well until maybe August when the heat slows things down and algae blooms come on strong. Eventually the early Fall arrives to low river levels on the Oregon Coast and salmon keg up waiting to go upriver with the first heavy rains. For the most part, the levels stay alright most seasons with the occasional low snow pack year that shows in low rivers and lakes. Nothing new. I recall very low lakes at times 50 years ago as a kid. Hope your gardening will not be drastically impacted….imagine you have adapted to storing waters as best you can.
have you been effected by the dry weather conditions effecting the rivers, lakes and fishing like they are seeing in California?
