I know little about birds. Not a finch, not a robin, not my usual hummingbirds. My back yard is full of birds this time of year…passing through and then not seen the rest of the year. I would say Starling (http://beautyofbirds.com/europeanstarlings.html) but only a guess. Feathers glistened in the sunlight.
they are very good mimics, we have a couple that speak red tailed hawk fluently.
the rabbits hate them.
poor little rabbits. flat in the grass, ears laid back, eyes to the sky waiting for annihilation only to feel anger and relief to find a scourge of starlings pointing down at them with their ivory bills and kee- eee-ing hysterically.
I always loved a murder of crows…but a scourge of starlings. WOW! now that’s priceless.
Very nice color and detail. Nice shot!

the Visigoth of the avian world.
