      I was asked and didn’t know. I guessed at thistle, but none were still in bloom. Thanks for info…good to know.

        If you didn’t know this or maybe you did. On the Bull Thistle the stocks are edible and flower part they say though I have never tried. Oh and when the stock is dry you can use them for a hand drill for primitive fire making and also the thistle for a birds nest for your tinder bundle.

          Very interesting. I wish I would have studied this plant more. Perhaps I will venture up there again soon and look further. I take shot like that and then later find out I really don’t know what the plant was. Usually, I luck out with the help of someone like you.

      I could not tell. At first I thought a thistle. It was roadside with a lot of yarrow and wild sweet peas. There were none actually still blooming to get a different perspective. I cannot recall having seen this before.
