“Disheveled Beauty”

I was going to use the words ‘disheveled beauty’ to describe this yellow rose. Beautiful with the askew petals, the lack of symmetry, the unkempt look. As I looked for a quote or grasped at constructing my own, I came across Radiating Blossom. She had already used ‘disheveled beauty’ several years ago for a beautiful flower. Well, I hope it is alright to use it again for this beautiful yellow rose. Please, if you don’t already, visit Radiating Blossom for gorgeous images of flowers and inspiring words.

In the meantime, here is a ‘disheveled beauty’, in my garden, enjoying the morning light…….

Iceland’s Bardarbunga Volcano Eruption Likely

Bardarbunga Volcano Concerns

“I read that the Bárdarbunga volcano in Iceland is considered restless, what does this mean?

Well, it simply means that it is showing some signs that it might be moving towards a future eruption. In the case of Bárdarbunga we are talking about earthquakes that are deep enough to be of magmatic origin, we also see GPS motion indicating that magma could be moving into the system, and on occasion we see magmatic tremor. For these reasons it has been called “restless”. The reason why Bárdarbunga is not classified as Active is that we do not really know how she behaves before an eruption. This is because the last eruption started in December 1902 and ended in June 1903…” Bardarbunga Info & More

Looking Into a Soul….Any Soul

“I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next.” Gilda Radner (1946-1989)

Rear Entry…….Servant’s Entry

Servant’s Back Entry

I recall, while in one of Portland’s few prestigious neighborhoods, having occasion to visit a home to provide assistance on a matter. In the scheme of things, I wouldn’t call it the most grandiose estate, but obviously nice. I rang the front door bell and eventually a woman answered. Now I had been summoned to this house, I didn’t just drop by. I was instructed that I had to go the “back servant’s entrance”. I paused, I carefully considered my next words. I considered I was a public ‘servant’. I walked around to the back of the ‘estate’ and was met by a ‘servant’ who provided the particulars to me, never meeting the actual complainant. An odd experience, by virtue of how I was raised, my social circles, and the small percentage of residences still having a waitstaff.
