BeeTea…I have always tied this size 12 to 16 at the smallest. The dubbing of green has a touch of sparkle to it, but light green synthetic or even hare’s ear will suffice. It is not ribbed and the dubbing is applied loosely to allow for trailing fibers. I added the bead first, of course, and it is the only weight. The wing is a combo of hackle fibers on top with 2-3 pheasant tail fibers atop that. I have only ever tied this with green but the pattern would obviously allow for tan/brown. I have used this on mostly streams but my son has used it on lakes as a diving caddis pattern with some success.

My son just joined a bass fishing club at school. He is a true fishing virgin. And he is loving it. He fished for the first time last weekend. Lost two lures, hooked his finger a few times. He is loving it!!!
