I’m waiting for an answer, are you smart American? What country or state this rose is from?

Well Wieslaw, I didn’t realize I was under any obligation to explain any of my photographs beyond simply presenting the beauty of the image. But, for you I will explain: my backyard in SE Portland, state of Oregon, US. Pacific NW of US. Thanks

I’m very sorry I’m stupid Polish. I would like to know what country this rose is from or state. If you give photo to internet you should explain this.

What a lovely rose! I’d love to know it’s name, guessing you likely don’t know.🙂

You are right, I don’t. It was my Aunt’s rose. I have a half dozen roses I bought over the years but the other several dozen roses were my Mom’s and Aunt’s. I unfortunately didn’t think to learn them save one..Mr. Lincoln.

Lincoln is truly unforgettable…. I had a few but they didn’t survive my oven of a garden…. I should try again, I could use a good red rose tho haven’t seen him in many years.🙂

C. S. Lewis on Do Gooder Tyranny

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
