Is the second picture the trunk of the tree? So rich in texture.
I recently had yucca fries at a Caribbean restaurant but I would never have guesses they are a part of the desert vegetation.🙂

Yes, it is close to the limb. They are quite common in the Mojave Desert region near Joshua Tree NP. Actually, there’s a town named Yucca Valley on Hwy. 62 in California.

Sic Semper Tyrannis

There’s No Accounting For Taste; Search the Blog for Much More. Thanks for Visiting!

C. S. Lewis on Do Gooder Tyranny

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
