I love the star in the center, and you really held the yellow well.

Thanks Natalie…it seems like a wild rose plant I inherited in poor condition and nursed back…like a Rugosa….but the stems seem no Rose like…but….it is a pretty bloom isn’t it. Thank you for commenting.

I am extremely poor at flower identification but am trying to learn. What are these beauties?

Good question…I have no idea as to the true name. It is seemingly a rose like plant…it belonged to my Aunt and was smothered in an old pot amongst ferns when I transplanted it into an open area. Perhaps someone visiting here will recognize the true name.

As a reader of your blogs, it seems that one thing that comes through about your personality is that you are a person who makes smothered beauty shine.

Well thank you…there’s truth to that…my eyes seek more than the big, bold beauty (which I like) and I look for the hidden, subtle, barely peeking out ‘beauty’….like people perhaps🙂 Very kind

C. S. Lewis on Do Gooder Tyranny

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
