morning light…

oh the Winter doldrums have set in. The daffodils are pushing up and even the roses have new growth budding out. Yet it is still January and I am getting antsy to tend to the yard. I miss that morning light, calmness, birds chirping time in the garden. Soon enough…

It’s going around…. gloomy and wet, yet they are still determined to think it’s spring!

This very same thing is happening here in Arkansas. Was out photographing flowers blooming, my husband’s bees collecting pollen, etc. So unreal for January.

C. S. Lewis on Do Gooder Tyranny

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
