This is just wonderful! I see these buildings often but I did not know it was possible to achieve the view you have captured here (or maybe it’s because you managed to get a clear day with no clouds????) Since I am a know-it-all I will explain the view for your readers! You are standing with your back to the Federal Building in Seattle on Second Avenue at Marion Street. The old stone arch is all that remains of the Burke Building (Judge Thomas Burke, namesake of the Burke-Gilman Trail). The view is to the southeast and you have framed the Columbia Tower with its entrance on Fourth & Columbia Streets. The Tower has a wonderful food court at the Fourth Avenue entrance and the building is known for spectacular views of Seattle from upper levels, including the Starbuck’s on the 40th floor. Have I mentioned……I love Seattle?????
Here’s one more observation from me, the know-it-all…. In the right foreground is the low-rise Marion Building, southeast corner of Second & Marion Streets. It houses the Metropolitan Grill steak restaurant. This building and the ones next to it southward on Second Avenue to Columbia Street, are going to be torn down and replaced by another high-rise building. So I think that within a few years your present shot with a clear view of the Columbia Tower, will be impossible to achieve. And perhaps then you will become rich by selling prints of this photo of 2016!
