Multnomah Falls (Columbia River Gorge)

Always a beautiful waterfall, Multnomah Falls was especially visual yesterday with the snow and ice. As I left it started to snow. Now, some twenty miles away to the west, Portland, Oregon is getting a strong dose of rare snow too.

Beautiful photos as usual and wow, that’s a lot of snow. Guess you’ll get some good exercise shoveling it as an added bonus, eh? All the best in 2017.

C. S. Lewis on Do Gooder Tyranny

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
