This chunky spider was once upon a time dangling right above my front door…I brought it in and placed in on a paper towel and snapped away. I released it into/onto a safe environ.

EEEK! What kind of spider is that? I have a photo I took this summer—of a black tarantula sitting on the cement by our back door. Not sure why it decided to come and sit there. My husband stuck the edge of a broom in front of the tarantula, and it slowly climbed on. Then he carried it down to the small greenbelt (weedbelt) behind our back fence, and let it crawl slowly off onto the grass there. I don’t know where the spider went after that. As I had never seen a tarantula up close and personal before, I was duly impressed!
