something brighter…

by a Portland Firehouse…not sure what it was, but expansive ground cover up to the old tree.

    It looks a bit like an early spring wildflower we have in New Jersey called celandine or marsh marigold. It can become invasive in our area, taking over banks near creeks and other damp areas. I love the flowers. I press them between the pages of books to keep all through the year. The color is so cheerful.
