Flaws & Beauty

“Nothing’s perfect, the world’s not perfect. But it’s there for us, trying the best it can; that’s what makes it so damn beautiful.” Hiromu Arakawa

“Love, no matter how it’s expressed, is still love. We all have flaws, and so our love will be flawed. But that doesn’t diminish it.” Erin McCarthy

“I only accept your mistakes and flaws to the degree that I accept my own.” Vironika Tugaleva

Roses: No Two Alike

Like your children, you look past the flaws to see the beauty in each rose. When I come upon a rose, I am drawn to the color and texture of the petals. I then see the ‘flaws’ or blemishes, if they even exist. It doesn’t matter because the overall beauty wins out.

Sic Semper Tyrannis

C. S. Lewis on Do Gooder Tyranny

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
