Penny the Cat zonked…

Penny the Cat, like many cats, does things on her own terms. One, is lounging half on my keyboard and the other half off into a pillow or a “don’t get hair on that” blanket. Here, she decided to crash after a manic effort at rubbing noses, pushing my glasses off my face and clawing my chin in an effort to get more chin rubs. An aside: notice the camera upper right. She was lying atop the strap so a no go on the camera’s use here.

Chevrolet…Did You Know?

Geeze, I am really opening myself up here. But, my mind…free flowing at 4:45am this morning. Daylight savings time robbing me of deep sleep. My mind flitting about as I try to go back under before the dogs and cat commence begging.

My mind settles, for inexplicable reasons, on Coupe. A car. A coupe. Coupe? Is that French? Coupe de Ville? More French. DeSoto? That’s got to be Spanish. Chevrolet…hmm? French again? How did those names originate I wonder? The cat leaps upon my twitching toes…I am awake! I said it was free flowing.

Ok, Louis-Joseph Chevrolet was not particularly French, but Swiss is close enough.

Airport Security & Goofball Combine for Laugh in Rome

“A Norwegian tourist fell asleep on a baggage belt at Rome’s Fiumicino airport and traveled 160 feet before being identified by an X-ray scanner, The Telegraph reported.  The 36-year-old man, whose name has not been released, was due to check in for a flight to Oslo, but found no one on duty at the airline desk.  He leapt across the counter and fell asleep on the baggage belt with his bag beside him, the paper reported. The man then traveled for 15 minutes through the secure baggage area before being spotted on an X-ray scanner by airport officials. it seems this kind of incident is not terribly unusual among, “drunks or people with psychological problems.”  In fact, the paper reports the official as saying this kind of thing happens about once a year.” (source)

World Time Zones, A Map

So obvious, but I often forget the time differences around the world. World Time Zones are interesting to me. The other morning when I arose my Century Link Internet access was kaput. I called the help line. My ear had to adjust to the lilt of an accent. During the course of the conversation, I asked the woman where she was located at. In ‘the Philipines’ she responded. Once finished, I thanked her and told her to have a nice day. Later, I wondered what time of day it was there and actually what day it was…fascinating. When I fished at Christmas Island, I would consider although I was approximately due South of the Hawaiian Islands, I was in a different timezone and at night finishing a day, my family was only just starting. Craziness for this C Math/Science student to assimilate.

WORLD TIME ZONE MAP…INTERESTING
