Little League Dugout: Waiting for Those Clarifying Moments

If you have ever performed in some fashion: sports, drama, music, giving a speech….you can recall the wait. The waiting for the moment you move from one spot to another; to move into a spot that will test your ability to perform under pressure. You remember your failures and you remember any glory moments. Today, as I sat watching my grand daughter wait for her moments in a soccer match, I noticed this old base ball diamond. Abandoned now, wasting to the elements. I thought back to my moments of waiting, standing, grabbing the bat and turning around the corner of the fence, headed to the plate. Life’s little challenges that seem so big at the time.

“Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright; The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light, And somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout; But there is no joy in Mudville — mighty Casey has struck out”.
