Anarchy of ‘Art’

Many have been obliterated by vandals. Were those ‘art’ in the day? Graffiti in the day? Probably ordained history, authorized by the collective. Today, not so.

Mesquite Trees

As so often happens with me, and maybe you too, I take a photograph because of some impulse. I usually don’t have an in depth understanding of what I am photographing: rocks, trees, plants, animals. The above image was taken because the blooms were pretty and the tree was in a fairly desolate spot with little else around sporting green. I had no idea what kind of tree it was. A little research reveals it was a mesquite tree. To certain Native Americans, it was a sacred tree used for many purposes and even their seasons were named after the yearly evolution of the mesquite tree. (more)
